Fine food wholesaler Cotswold Fayre is a business that prides itself on offering quality and specialist products, but they didn’t have the website to match this ethos.
Tired, clunky and time consuming to update, the site was well past its sell by date and in need of a major upgrade to bring it in line with the modern, global direction of the company.
Recognizing that they needed a Magento expert to help them cook up a new website, Cotswold Fayre researched several potential partners but opted for Cohesion Digital.
During the analysis phase, we worked with Cotswold Fayre to identify the areas that required some work and discussed the pros and cons of possible solutions, so they were fully aware of the potential impact of the changes.
We also helped the eCommerce team communicate the work involved to other internal teams, so that they were on board with the project from the start and understood where they would be required to provide support.
Working with Cotswold Fayre’s in-house designer, we built a new responsive website with a sleeker look and intuitive navigation.
Behind the scenes, we implemented a live stock solution that allows customers to see and order what’s in stock. If a product is out of stock, customers can sign up to receive an email notification when the item is back in stock, helping to recover sales that would otherwise have been lost.
The product page itself was also redesigned to include intelligent recommendation functionality to cross-sell and up-sell from the Cotswold Fayre range. Suggestions are served up on this page based on items that are frequently purchased together and similar alternatives to the product.

Sales have gone from around 5% of all orders being placed online on the old site to 30% of all orders being placed online on the new site.
This helps company’s long term ambition to have the majority of its customers transacting online rather than via telephone ordering, freeing up the office staff to build relationships with potential suppliers & customers.
